ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO AN END......

This past weekend I had the opportunity to celebrate both my mother and mother in-law for Mother's Day and had the privilege of sharing the DC Design House with them.  Sunday marked the end of the 2012 Design House run and I found myself with mixed emotions.  Pleased to have completed another wonderful show house, pleased to have formed new friendships with several designers, though most pleased to have been part of the larger picture, raising money for Children's National Medical Center.  Sad, that something I poured my heart into weekend after weekend was now coming to a close.

The closing of the Design House is now somewhat Ritualistic for me, it signals a shift in season and in less than 2 weeks I will be beach bound most weekends thru Labor Day, spending some much needed time with Matt and Colby.

I will have 2 more opportunities to say good bye to the Nursery Bath, one later this afternoon for the photo shoot for Kitchen and Bath Ideas Magazine.

I am so proud of my Case Family and all we were able to accomplish this year!

KBIS FINDS......

My first trip to the Kitchen and Bath Show in Chicago was a very eye opening experience.  From Seminars, to New Products, I was not for a loss of things to do and see. I just barely missed the Candice Olsen book signing (sigh), there is always next year in New Orleans, right Joaquin?

Some of my favorite things from KBIS.....

Jason Wu for Brizo

The Trash Can is Particularly Beautiful.

Cambria Concept Color #2.
I hope we see it available soon!

I love the wine storage and do these Poufs look familiar?  DC Designer Elizabeth Krial featured them in pink in the Modern Nursery at this year's DC Design House.

Silestone Integral Sink.

.......Hands-free faucets, digital everything, maybe even a turn back to black appliances are all things forecasted to be big hits this year in design!

Just Flew in from the Windy City......
And boy are my arms tired!

The 2012 Kitchen and Bath Show was such an Amazing Event and we even had time to check out the Chicago Dream Home on display (more on both these items to come).

Driving to the office Monday morning I received a phone call that while away I won a Regional Chrysalis Award for the Kitchen Remodel below.

The existing soffits were an eye sore and took up valuable storage space.

This blank wall took up real estate.

Now for the Beautiful Kitchen Make Over!!!!!
We removed the existing soffits and load bearing wall to connect the kitchen to the dining area.  We updated the lighting and stainless appliances.  We moved the range 20" and flipped the dishwasher to the other side of the sink.  The cabinets are a beautiful off white with cafe glaze with a stunning granite counter top.

What a much better use of the blank wall!

And with that, what a great way to start the week,
Allie
